Introduction :
The iQOO Z7 and Z7x have just been released in China. It should be noted that these are distinct versions from the Z7 5G, which was released in India last week. Also, there is no Pro variant (yet), but the regular Z7 has inherited some of the Z6 Pro’s features. (it even beats it in some respects).
iQOO Z7 :
Despite the name, the iQOO Z7 shares some characteristics with the Z6 Pro, but it is not a real successor. It is driven by the Snapdragon 782G, Qualcomm’s successor for the 778G(+) used by the Z6 Pro (the vanilla Z6 used the SD 695).
It is coupled with 8 or 12GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 128/256GB of UFS 2.2 storage in this configuration. Storage is not extendable, unlike the standard Z6. This phone (and the other Z7 versions) will be released with Android 13 and (at least in China) OriginOS 13. This allows up to 8GB of virtual RAM.
The 5,000mAh battery, which now enables 120W fast charging (up from 5,000mAh/18W on the Z6, 4,700mAh/66W on the Z6 Pro), is another significant upgrade this iteration. According to the business, 5 minutes of charging is enough for 5 hours of streaming video, and a completely charged battery will last approximately 16 and a half hours of streaming.
The Z7 has a larger screen than either of its forebears, measuring 6.64″ diagonally, and it is an LCD. (1,080 x 2,388px, 19.9:9). It has a refresh rate of 120Hz and enables HDR10, as well as 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color palette.
The back camera is fairly rudimentary, with a single 64MP module (f/1.8 lens with OIS) and a 2MP depth sensor. There is no such thing as an extra wide here. The front-facing camera is equipped with a 16MP lens. Face recognition and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor are both options.
The Z7 has a 3.5mm audio jack as well as Bluetooth 5.2 compatibility for aptX Adaptive and LDAC. The phone is Hi-Res Audio approved. (both wired and wireless).
iQOO Z7x :
The iQOO Z7x resembles the regular Z6. It has the same Snapdragon 695 CPU, 6/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128/256GB of UFS 2.2 storage as the Snapdragon 695. It also includes a microSD card reader with a capacity of 1TB.
The battery has grown in both capacity and speed, now storing 6,000mAh and charging at 80W (compared to 5,000mAh/18W on the Z6). It is slower than the Z7 battery, but some people may prefer the extra loudness over the increased speed. And it’s not slow; it gets to 70% in 34 minutes. If fully charged, it should last nearly 19 hours of movie watching.
The x-phone, like its siblings, has a 6.64″ LCD (1,080 2,380px, 19.9:9 aspect ratio) with a frame rate of 120Hz. This monitor supports the entire DCI-P3 color range but lacks HDR10.
The 8MP selfie camera is embedded in the display, and the side-mounted biometric sensor remains. The back camera has a 50MP sensor (f/1.8 lens, no OIS) as well as a 2MP depth sensor.
The Bluetooth version is slightly outdated (v5.1), but it still supports aptX Adaptive and LDAC, as well as a 3.5mm input for those who prefer wired headphones.
