The new Apple HomePod is scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2024. According to reports, the device will have a 7-inch display panel and represents a significant change in Cupertino’s approach to the smart house. The upgraded display will increase the smart home device’s usefulness and deepen its integration with the rest of Apple’s hardware.
The only source of displays for the upcoming HomePod is listed as Tianma Microelectronics. Kuo also notes the possibility of future display orders for Apple iPads coming to Tianma. Last year’s rumors also mentioned Apple’s intentions to release a HomePod that runs tvOS. In addition to being a smart home speaker, the rumored device would also offer FaceTime features via a built-in camera.
